 Firefighters responded to a report of a fire at 143-40 Roosevelt Ave. in Flushing early Tuesday and discovered three bodies set ablaze with their throats slashed.

Firefighters arriving to the scene of a fire at 143-40 Roosevelt Ave. in Flushing discovered the bodies of three people in an apartment. According to the NYPD, Jong Lee, 50, slashed the throats of his wife Sung Lee, 54 and their 16-year-old son Brian Lee before killing himself and setting the fire. Lee had left a suicide note saying he killed himself and his family because he had "too many problems" and did not want his family to suffer.

Former city councilmember Leroy Comrie casts his ballot at PS118 in Queens in the Democratic primary for the District 14 State Senate seat. Comrie is the leading opposition to seven term incumbent State Senator Malcolm Smith who was indicted on federal bribery charges.

 NYPD crime scene investigators arrive at the scene of a murder suicide where 51-year-old Xie Bin shot and killed Ya Ling Meng, 46, in front of 133-58 41st Ave. in Flushing.

Officers from the NYPD Crime Scene Unit arrive at the scene of a murder suicide outside a restaurant at 133-58 41st Ave. in Flushing where 51-year-old Xie Bin shot and killed Ya Ling Meng, 46, before shooting himself. According to witnesses the couple had been arguing loudly prior to the shooting.

 Rep Steve Isreal and Nly Rozic announced bills proposed to ease the financial burden of applying to college.

U.S. Rep Steve Israel (D-NY) announces a proposal for a bill which would provide a $500 tax credit for middle class families to ease the financial burden of applying to college such as admission tests and application fees.

The city council agreed to rezone a commercial lot at 176 Woodward Ave. in Ridgewood to build an 88 unit residential building of which 50 percent of apartments will be slated for affordable housing. In addition the developers have agreed to provide studio space to select artists groups for $10 a year.

 Police investigate the remains of a woman found along Utopia Parkway near 14th Road.

An NYPD Crime Scene Investigator arrives at the scene of a body found in a forested area between Cross Island Parkway and Utopia Parkway near 14th Road. According to the NYPD the remains were discovered by a Parks Department employee while in a state of decomposition and have only identified the remains as a female. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner is currently investigating the identity and cause of death of the individual.

 Blood splatter lingers on a lamp post at the intersection of 97th Street and Northern Boulevard where 30-year-old Fabian Carreno was murdered at approximately 2 a.m. Sunday. According to the NYPD Carreno suffered slash wounds to his face and neck. Police have made no arrests and stated the investigation is ongoing.

An NYPD Highway Patrolman examines the wreckage of a vehicle at the intersection of 21st St. and 35th Ave. in Astoria which killed the driver, 45-year-old Anthony Boyd after the vehicle struck the curb and a fire hydrant before flipping over on its side. Five passengers and a pedestrian were also injured.

 The NYPD's Collision Investigation Squad examines the scene of a motorcycle crash at the intersection of Francis Lewis Blvd. and Willets Point Blvd.

Police investigate the scene of an accident where, according to the NYPD, a male in his 30's struck the rear of a truck while riding a motorcycle at the intersection of Francis Lewis Blvd. and WIllets Point Blvd. in Whitestone. The driver of the motorcycle was transported to New York Hospital Queens in critical condition.
