An emotionally distraught woman is assisted by police outside the scene of a triple homicide at 4237 Touro St. in the New Orleans neighborhood of Gentilly where 30-year-old Monique Smith, 10-year-old Justin Simms and 6-year-old Jumyrin Smith were found shot and killed. A fourth victim, A'Miya Smith, age 12, was transported to an area hospital in critical condition.

A memorial builds from items left behind by friends, family and the citizens of Baton Rouge at the site where Alton Sterling, 37, was shot and killed by a police officer after a homeless man called in a complaint that Sterling had brandished a gun after asking him for money. Sterling had been selling CD's outside of the Triple S grocery store.
